Tonkin Consulting became the Pitney Bowes Business (PBBI) Insight Strategic Partner in South Australia in 2003 and is an authorised MapInfo Training Centre. Our success as a Partner has seen Tonkin Consulting awarded the MapInfo Australia/New Zealand Partner of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and more recently, the 2008 Pitney Bowes Business Insight Australia & New Zealand Location Intelligence Partner of the Year.
The Tonkin Consulting Spatial Services team has received industry recognition in the South Australian Spatial Excellence Awards for the professional services they provide; winning the 2006 Award for its application of Spatial Information Systems to water management projects and the 2008 Award in the Infrastructure category for its work in Asset Management.
In 2009, the Spatial Services team was again awarded the South Australian Spatial Excellence Award, in the People & Community category, for work completed for the SA Tourism – Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism mapping project. Currently, the majority of councils in South Australia utilise PBBI’s corporate solution, MapInfo Exponare – more than any other State in Australia. Exponare is a configurable enterprise application, enabling organisations to manage and deploy maps and data over the Internet or an internal network. Over 40 SA councils also have long-term software and maintenance support contracts with Tonkin Consulting, utilising MapInfo technology.
